A division of a global bank seeks a Compliance Officer. This division specializes in the buying and trading of distressed debt and securities and special situations (i.e bankruptcies, etc.).
The regulating entity is the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
The Compliance Officer will have responsibilities for both regulatory matters and sales and trading activities.
In this dual role he/she will be responsible for overall management and oversight. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the business activities are conducted in a manner that meets all legal/regulatory requirements as well as adhering to applicable Firm policies and procedures.
The position requires an in-depth understanding of distressed trading strategies that cut across the entire capital structure and requires a solid understanding of bankruptcy situations and restructurings.
Also, the person will be responsible for being the primary interface with the OCC, including regulatory relations and examinations management. JD is not required, but preferred. Experience in a bank-regulated environment is also desirable.
